High School Roundup: Estancia rallies for win

Estancia 6, Godinez 5

Ryan Harrison hit a sac fly in the bottom of the seventh to score Jeff Alai to win the game for the Eagles in the Orange Coast League game on Wednesday.

Spencer Stern (2-2) pitched 4 1/3 innings in relief to pick up the win. He gave up one hit on no runs and struck out six for Estancia (9-4, 3-2 in league).

Connor Brown (two for three), Brian Rodriguez (two for four, RBI), Trevor Brown (two for four), Stern (one for two, RBI) and Harrison (one for two, RBI) also contributed for the Eagles.

Newport Harbor 2, South Torrance 0

Luke Genova pitched a complete-game, three hitter to improve to 3-2 for the Sailors in the nonleague game on Wednesday.

Josh Spicer was two for three, Jeremiah Sheldon one for two with a double, Jake Genoa one for two with an RBI for Newport Harbor (6-6).

SOFTBALL

Estancia 17, Los Amigos 7

Felicia Rios was two for three with a double, triple and three runs batted in for the Eagles in Tuesday’s nonleague game.

Maya Van Den Heever was two for three with two runs scored, and Kalena Shepherd also scored twice and hit a double.

Isabelle Morales hit a single and a double and scored two run, while Emily Kubisty scored four times for Estancia (4-7).

Newport Harbor 9, La Quinta 7

WESTMINSTER — Pitcher Sammy Del Toro helped herself with three RBIs and she went two for three in the nonleague game for the Sailors on Tuesday.

Del Toro improved to 7-2 as the pitcher after seven innings of work that included two strikeouts.

Leah Freeman (two for four), Kendall Machado (one for three) and Lesly De La Rosa (one for three) also contributed for Newport Harbor (7-2-1).

BOYS’ GOLF

Beckman 183, Corona del Mar 191

Clay Seeber shot one-under par 34 for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League match at Costa Mesa Country Club’s Mesa Linda course on Wednesday.

JohnMichael Jurgensen (36), Guy Clauss (39), Zach Glabman (40) and Ethan Wien (42) also scored for CdM (3-4, 0-3 in league).

BOYS’ TENNIS

Newport Harbor 15, Estancia 3

Michael Royak swept in doubles with Corey Smith and Julian Hernandez for the Sailors in the nonleague match on Tuesday.

David Sharp swept at No. 1 singles for Newport Harbor (5-6).

BOYS’ LACROSSE

Corona del Mar 15, San Mateo 4

Stephen Von Der Ahe and Jake Elisius scored four goals each for the Sea Kings in the nonleague game on Wednesday.

Sachin Gokhale and Jordan Greenhall scored two goals each for CdM.

The Sea Kings edged St. Margaret’s, 8-7, on Tuesday. Will Favreau led CdM with four goals and Nate Neumann added two goals.
