Water Polo: CdM’s Hack, Brooks commit to USC
Corona del Mar High seniors Brendan Hack and Ben Brooks have both committed to USC for men’s water polo, they confirmed recently.
Hack, a center, was the Pacific Coast League MVP and Newport-Mesa Player of the Year as a senior for CdM. He led CdM with 78 goals.
Brooks, who played center defender, was a first-team all-league and Dream Team selection. He scored 23 goals and had 16 steals.
CdM went 20-9, won the Pacific Coast League title and advanced to the CIF Southern Section Division 1 quarterfinals. There, the Sea Kings lost to Los Angeles Loyola, 9-7, at USC swim stadium.
Now, Hack and Brooks are going back to USC. They can sign their national letter of intent on Wednesday.
