Big Brothers Big Sisters host Kayak Day in Newport

About 100 children and their mentors from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County and the Inland Empire gathered Saturday at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort in Newport Beach for the fourth annual UnitedHealthcare Kayak Day.

The three-hour event, featuring kayaking, volleyball and lawn games, was one in a month-long series of activities sponsored by UnitedHealthcare to encourage healthy habits for children who participate in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.
