Holiday, a new bar and lounge in Westside Costa Mesa, hosted a preview night Friday featuring cocktails and DJ music.

The venue, at 721 W. 19th St., is a speakeasy-style bar with touches of classic Hollywood and a 1900s French plantation house. It began having soft openings earlier this month and plans a grand opening in mid-August.

Holiday also will have an invitation-only area known as the Red Room — dubbed the “bar within the bar” — that is expected to open in late August.

Holiday replaces the Lions Den and Maison, the latter of which had a brief run last year before having permitting troubles with the city.

Holiday’s owners say they’re looking to expand the bar’s offerings to include live music.
