H.B. man killed by car after stepping out of disabled vehicle on 605 Freeway
A Huntington Beach man was killed and two people were injured in a crash early Saturday after he stepped out of his disabled car on the 605 Freeway.
Trevor Jacob Fike, 35, was driving a 1998 Ford shortly after 1 a.m. when he was involved in a one-car crash that left the vehicle disabled between the fast lane and the carpool lane on the northbound 605 south of Carson Street, according to an Orange County Register report.
Fike got out of his car and a 2006 Volkswagen struck him and the Ford, according to the report. Fike was pronounced dead by paramedics.
A 37-year-old Bellflower man driving the Volkswagen suffered major injuries in the crash. A 23-year-old Bellflower woman who was a passenger in the Volkswagen was treated for minor injuries, the Register reported.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
