Do you know this man sought in connection with UCI office burglaries?
UC Irvine police Monday asked for help in identifying a man they believe may be linked to a series of burglaries on campus.
During a string of thefts that spanned September and October, someone took computers and cellphones from academic offices, according to police. Investigators believe one person may be responsible for many of the crimes.
Police are looking for a man, described as a “person of interest,” who was seen “going from floor to floor” looking into offices the same day four computers disappeared, according to a news release from the campus.
Authorities said the man is in his mid-30s, about 5 feet 6, with a stocky build, short black hair and a goatee.
He was wearing a long- sleeved lavender shirt and carrying a black backpack, police said.
Police asked that anyone with information about the man contact Det. Chris Bolano at (949) 824-1161 or (949) 824-5223.
