Costa Mesa man suspected of DUI after car hits curb and flips
Costa Mesa police arrested a man on suspicion of driving under the influence after a car hit a curb and rolled over early Thursday, authorities said.
Police went to the 1500 block of Mesa Verde Drive East about 12:15 a.m. after receiving calls that a 2012 Nissan Maxima had flipped, Sgt. Dan Miles said. The Maxima also struck a tree and light pole during the crash, according to police.
Officers found a man walking away from the crash scene and detained him, Miles said. After investigating, police suspected the man had been driving the Maxima while intoxicated.
Alejandro Rodriguez, 21, of Costa Mesa was arrested on suspicion of DUI, Miles said.
Rodriguez had minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics, Miles said.
