Sherman Library & Gardens in Corona del Mar will welcome the public to its second annual “Nights of a Thousand Lights” display of flowers and holiday lighting Friday and Saturday.

During the event from 6 to 9 p.m., the grounds will be adorned with 1,000 luminarias and other decorations, and each section will have a different theme, including a light tunnel and a skating pond surrounded by a forest. A 20-foot Christmas tree will be surrounded by cyclamen and snapdragons. Antique toys and classic Christmas photos will be exhibited in the Adobe Gallery.

General admission is $10 ($8 for members). Children 5 and younger will be admitted free.

The site’s Cafe Jardin will offer a special dinner menu.

Sherman Gardens members are invited Thursday night to hear carolers, eat at food stations and meet special guests from the North Pole. Tickets are $18, and members may bring guests.
