OCC to offer holiday poinsettias at its annual sale Friday
Orange Coast College’s horticulture department will kick off the holidays with its annual poinsettia sale on Friday.
The 38th event will be held in the college’s greenhouses off Adams Avenue in Costa Mesa from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Advance orders of more than $100 will be available for pickup between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday. Orders can be submitted at orangecoastcollege.edu/horticulture.
Every year, OCC horticulture classes grow and sell thousands of bright red and snow-white poinsettias to raise money for the department. This year, students and faculty produced nearly 12,000 plants to sell, according to a news release.
“This is a fabulous event to raise funds for student projects,” horticulture instructor Lori Pullman said in a statement. “Every year we love to see the wonderful people who come here to support us.”
Prices for the plants range from $5 to $45.
