Holiday trees dress up for charity event
Winter showed up early at the Fairmont Hotel in Newport Beach on Saturday as volunteers from an Irvine-based nonprofit rushed around the hotel to decorate holiday trees for charity.
The 14 trees, each with a different theme ranging from “Christmas in Candy Land” to “Star Wars Christmas,” will be the centerpiece of South County Outreach’s Festival of Trees auction Dec. 3 at the Fairmont. Auction guests will have the opportunity to bid on decorated trees to take home.
Ninety cents of every dollar raised from the auction will go toward South County Outreach, which works to prevent homelessness and to house homeless families.
The trees will be on display at the hotel through Dec. 2.
