Little Corona beach reopens to swimmers after sewage spill
Little Corona beach in Corona del Mar reopened late Wednesday afternoon after being closed for about three days following a sewage spill.
The Orange County Health Care Agency closed the stretch of beach near Poppy Avenue and Ocean Boulevard to swimming, diving and surfing Sunday night after about 150 gallons of sewage spilled into the ocean from a blocked storm drain.
Officials began testing the water’s bacteria levels on Monday and reopened the beach after readings returned to an acceptable level for two consecutive days, the agency said.
