1942 wooden tugboat destroyed in early morning fire

The William B, a 76-foot wooden tugboat built in 1942, was destroyed in a fire at 2:33 a.m. Saturday in Newport Beach Harbor, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

A brief video posted on Twitter by the Sheriff’s Department showed the tugboat partially sunken and listing to one side.
