Local events will commemorate Memorial Day
The nation will take time this weekend to honor Americans who have died in military service, and several events will be held in Costa Mesa, Newport Beach and Irvine to commemorate Memorial Day.
Costa Mesa
Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Memorial Park & Mortuary will have its annual Memorial Day service from 11 a.m. to noon Monday.
The service, in its 62nd year, will be held at the cemetery, 1625 Gisler Ave.
It will include a musical performance by the Orange Empire Chorus and a keynote speech by veteran David Hayward.
Complimentary refreshments will follow the ceremony.
