OCTA bus crashes into a planter in Newport Beach; 6 people slightly hurt
Six people suffered minor injuries when an Orange County Transit Authority bus crashed into a concrete planter in front of a building in Newport Beach Sunday night, according to police.
The bus was in an empty parking lot in the 700 block of Newport Center Drive about 7 p.m. when it went up an embankment and smashed into the planter, Newport Beach police said.
Eight people were on the bus, and all got out on their own after the crash, police said.
However, five passengers and the driver complained of pain and were taken to local hospitals, according to authorities.
Police are investigating what caused the crash.
