Costa Mesa police are searching for two masked men who robbed a clothing store at South Coast Plaza and held eight employees at gunpoint Friday night.

Officers were called to the Zara store about 10:18 p.m. after a takeover robbery was reported, said Sgt. Bang Le.

Police said two masked men entered the store after hours through a back door that leads to the stock room, possibly using a code to gain access.

They held eight employees at gunpoint and stole at least $20,000 in cash, Le said.

The robbers were gone within minutes and were seen on surveillance video fleeing in a Dodge Charger south on Bristol Street.

Police found a wallet and cell phone that they think belong to one of the robbers in the parking lot east of the loading docks.

Detailed descriptions of the masked men were not available.
