2 teens arrested after 6 people are shot at with BB gun in Irvine
Two teenage boys were arrested on suspicion of assaulting six people with a BB gun in Irvine, authorities said.
The suspects, ages 16 and 17, were not identified because they are minors. They were arrested Thursday on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
The incidents began at about 7:30 p.m. Jan. 21 when two teenagers driving in the area of Alton Parkway and Creek Road shot a BB gun at two 18-year-old men skateboarding in a park, the Irvine Police Department said Tuesday in a Facebook post.
One of the men was hit in a leg. The other man’s parked car was hit.
The teens then drove to a nearby shopping center at Barranca Parkway and Creek Road, where two more teenage skateboarders were shot at, police said. One of them was struck in the face and body and the other was uninjured, police said.
The teens in the vehicle later shot at a couple in their 60s who were out for a walk near Jeffrey Road and Roosevelt, according to police. The man was hit multiple times in the body. The woman was unhurt.
