The Crowd: Hundreds celebrate 25th anniversary of Working Wardrobes
It was a celebration of 25 years of helping Orange County residents find a path back to self-sufficiency through employment.
Working Wardrobes celebrated its 25th anniversary recently at Hotel Irvine, attracting a Saturday night dinner crowd of more than 350 guests. The highlight of the party was the testimonials from two Working Wardrobe clients, Andrea and Bill, both of whom shared personal stories of overcoming difficult circumstances through assistance from Working Wardrobes.
Jerri Rosen, chief executive of the Costa Mesa-bases nonprofit, greeted sponsors and donors, including representatives from Union Bank, Wells Fargo, JP Morgan Chase, PIMCO, US Bank, Young’s Market and Autobytel Inc.

On The Road To Candlelight
A wine-tasting party in late October introduced the community to Candlelight Concert 2015.
Organizers created a preview wine-tasting event to give patrons the opportunity to select specific wine pairings from selections presented. Jessup Cellars and Handwritten Wines will generously provide the libations for this season’s Candlelight Concert, arguably the most elegant party of the year in Orange County.
On hand for the preview party were Candlelight Concert co-chairs Marta and Raj Bahthal and Kelly and Jim Mazzo, sharing details on the upcoming 42nd annual event. Set for Dec. 4, Candlelight will return to the stage at Segerstrom Hall and will feature the talented Grammy Award-winning jazz pianist and singer Diana Krall as well as the legendary KC and The Sunshine Band.

Costa Mesa Holiday Home Tour
Costa Mesa Councilwoman Katrina Foley, president of the Costa Mesa High School Foundation, joins a dedicated committee of volunteers — including Jana Sullivan, Linda Brumbaugh, Jacquie Blair, Jesi Pearce, Tim Tauber, Darlene Stinson, John Kelly and event co-chairs Anais Tangie and Debbie Speer — in inviting the Orange County crowd to tour a half dozen amazing residences in the Costa Mesa community on Dec. 3.
The massive home-tour undertaking has the support of presenting sponsors SoCo, Greenleaf, William Sonoma and Broadway Botanicals. Additional sponsor support is coming from South Coast Plaza, The BLVD Hotel, Villa Properties, the city of Costa Mesa, Realtors John Kelly of Star Real Estate and Darleen Stinson of REMAX Homes, and Foley of the Foley Law Group, Newport Beach.
SoCo is going all out to support the project, working with onsite vendors including Surfas Kitchen Supply, which will sponsor a cocktail reception on the night of the tour. Greenleaf Restaurant will provide heavy hors d’ oeuvres, wines and dessert.
Following the reception and tour, Room and Board will present a party in its showroom at SoCo. Homes on the tour are in Mesa del Mar, Wimbledon Village, Del Cerro, Marina Highlands and other neighborhoods.

Science Education Will Change The World
Discovery Cube Orange County raised more than $575,000 at its recent 2015 gala in support of science education in Orange County, attracting a crowd of more than 350 local donors to a vintage Hollywood-themed party billed as a Red Carpet Affair.
Honored guests of the night included mega-generous philanthropists George and Julia Argyros, who were presented with the Arnold O. Beckman Award, and longtime marketing and public affairs executive Lind White-Peters, who was honored with the Spirit of Discovery Award. Co-chairs were Janet Ray and Mechelle Lawrence-Adams.
The crowd was ushered into the new Julianne Argyros Showcase Theatre and Exhibition Hall for the dinner program. Dinner was catered by Blueberry Hill, while a six-piece band entertained and celebrity impersonators surprised the crowd.
On hand for the successful dinner event were Discovery Cube Orange County President Joe Adams and board Chair Rick Baily. The large crowd included Debby and Dan Bolar, Margo and Paul Folino, Barbara and Bill May, Andrea and Jeff Reeves, and Michelle and David Horowitz.
Presenting sponsor Taco Bell has enabled the center to be named one of the 10 “most trusted brands in Orange County.” The Discovery Cube has also been awarded the National Medal of Science from the Institute of Museum and Library Sciences.
