‘Family Night’

University Synagogue, 3400 Michelson Drive, Irvine, will host a family Shabbat barbecue dinner to celebrate America with guests wearing red, white or blue at 6 p.m. Rabbi Rachlis will share high points of American Jewish history and a group of University Synagogue members will lead folk and patriotic songs in celebration of Independence Day. Art exhibit

Orange County Museum of Art, 850 San Clemente Drive, Newport Beach, presents “Marilyn Minter: Pretty/Dirty,” an exhibition featuring paintings, photographs and videos about the contradictory emotions around the feminine body and beauty. Historical exhibition

Orange County Great Park, Heritage and Aviation Exhibition, 6950 Marine Way, Irvine, will showcase “MCAS El Toro Fire Service,” featuring a historical narration and artifacts including a vintage fire/crash crew truck, ornate host pieces and fire alarm boxes among other displays.
