Youth Scene: IronPigs stay alive
The IronPigs stayed alive in the hunt for the Ocean View Little League Minor A division postseason title on May 23 by defeating the Red Wings, 17-8, in an elimination game.
The Red Wings saw their season come to an end as the IronPigs busted out for five runs in both the second and third innings and cruised to victory to remain alive in the tournament.
Owen Wessel went two for four with a home run and five runs batted in for the IronPigs who scored five runs in both the second and third innings. Nathan Skorheim and Lucas Pantel each went three for four and scored twice for the winners.
For the Red Wings, Alec Muirhead had a triple and a double and drove in three runs.
The division championship game is at 5 p.m. Saturday.
