Baseball: Laguna Beach opens playoffs at home
Laguna Beach High’s impressive baseball season has earned the Breakers a home game to open the CIF Southern Section Division 4 playoffs, as pairings were released Monday.
Laguna Beach (24-2) will play host to a wild-card winner Friday at 3:15 p.m.
The Breakers await Tuesday’s winner between Victor Valley (13-16, Desert Sky League No. 3) at Montclair (18-6, Mt. Baldy League No. 3).
Laguna Beach went 15-0 to win the Orange Coast League. The Breakers take a school-record 22 straight wins into the playoffs.
They also have a school-record 10 shutouts this season.
Westlake Village Oaks Christian (24-3-1), the Tri-Valley League champion, is the division’s top seed.
