Briefs: Greenough commits to Erksine

Marissa Greenough, a member of the Laguna Beach High girls’ volleyball team, committed to Erskine College, the school announced Tuesday. The Division II school is located in Due West, S.C., and is a member of the Conference Carolinas.

Greenough, a senior outside hitter/opposite, took her official recruiting visit to Erskine in November.

The official letter of intent signing date for volleyball is April 17.

Breakers teams ranked in CIF-SS polls

Four Laguna Beach High athletic teams earned rankings in the initial CIF Southern Section polls of the New Year:

Girls’ water polo: Laguna Beach (No. 6, Division 1).

Boys’ basketball: Laguna Beach (No. 12, Division 4AA).

Girls’ basketball: Laguna Beach (tie-No. 14, Division 4A).

Boys’ soccer: Laguna Beach (No. 10, Division 5).
