Ojai tournament
OJAI — Third-seeded Chaz Downing, a Corona del Mar High freshman, lost to second-seeded Arash Hafezi of University, 6-2, 6-0, in the boys’ 14 singles final of the 112th Ojai Valley Tennis Tournament on Sunday.
Downing reached the title match by knocking off top-seeded Connor Hance, 6-1, 6-1, in Saturday’s semifinals.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — Sophomore Hale Furey shot one-over-par 72 on Monday, the first day of the Pacific Coast League individual finals, in which five of Furey’s Corona del Mar teammates advanced to Tuesday’s final round at San Juan Hills Country Club.
Furey is in third place, while CdM’s Brian Mull and Karick Brown, who each shot 75, are tied for ninth.
CdM’s John Davenport and Mike Moorhead each shot 76.
CdM’s Chase Wheatley had a 78, which was the cut.
The top 18 players advanced.

LONG BEACH — Nelson Negrillo shot four-over-par 76 on Monday and will be joined by Chris Pawinksi (77) as Costa Mesa High representatives in Tuesday’s final round at Sky Links Golf Course.
Newport Harbor 187, Fountain Valley 197
FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Mason Moody shot two-under-par 34 and Carter Norris shot 35 to lead the visiting Sailors in their Sunset League finale on Monday at Mile Square Golf Course.
Landon Knight and Tyler Tashiro shot 39.
The Tars are 14-8, 6-4 in league.

Estancia
SANTA ANA — Senior outside hitter Dylan Gaitan recorded 15 kills and three blocks in the Eagles’ Orange Coast League match, which Calvary Chapel won, 25-19, 25-20, 24-26, 25-22, on Monday.
Riley Stack had 10 kills and two blocks for Estancia (1-8 in league).
The Eagles close out league play at home against crosstown rival Costa Mesa on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
