College Roundup: Yowell 7th in 400 hurdles at Mt. SAC Relays

WALNUT — Senior Jacob Yowell, a UC Irvine senior, placed seventh in the 400-meter hurdles at the Mt. SAC Relays with a season-best time of 51.71 seconds on Friday.
In the same event, Trevor Wightman placed 32nd in 54.75.
UCI’s 4x100-relay team, which consists of Mike Kennedy, Chris Carson, Dominic Jester and Yowell, finished ninth with in 41.41.

Mt. SAC Relays
WALNUT — UC Irvine junior Ericka Nowell finished 15th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 60.71 seconds at the Mt. SAC Relays on Friday.
Teammates Amber Middleton placed 21st in 61.24 and Kelly Collins 33rd in 62.60.
Middleton finished 15th in the 100 hurdles in 13.82 and Collins was 35th in 14.53.

WOMEN’S TENNIS
Orange Coast College has qualified four players for the Southern California Regional Championships, to be held in Palm Desert on May 3-5 at the Monterey Country Club.
Madelyn Koehly has qualified in singles, as well as in doubles with Haley Moss. Krystal Hernandez and Nory Call have also qualified as a doubles team.
Orange Coast is also in the dual team Regional Championships. The Pirates travel to No. 2 seed Ventura College on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
