Bitzer leads Twins to victory
The Fountain Valley Twins ran their win streak to three games Tuesday when they knocked off the visiting Costa Mesa American White Sox, 3-2, in a Little League Majors Division game at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley.
Shortstop/pitcher Jake Bitzer gave the Twins the win when he sent a fastball over the fence in center field for a two-run, walk-off home run. Bitzer had two hits, two stolen bases and two runs scored.
Tanner Motske pitched three shutout innings with six strikeouts and didn’t allow a walk. Bitzer came on in the fourth inning and allowed two runs on two hits and struck out four.
Luke Bundesen closed out the sixth inning and picked up his second win in four days. The Twins’ offense was a little flat but the three pitchers were backed up by the defensive play of Bundesen, Luke Logan and Chanson Ching.
