CERRITOS — Kavi Sakraney scored two goals and set up the game-winner in overtime for the visiting Lightning in the Academy League game Saturday.

Sakraney scored in the 58th minute to put Sage (2-4, 1-1 in league) up, 2-1, but Whitney forced overtime when it scored in the second minute of extra time.

After Sakraney was fouled in the 18-yard box, Jack Percival converted a penalty kick in the fifth minute of the first 10-minute overtime.

Sakraney finalized the scoring in extra time of the second overtime.

Cole Kirby scored Sage’s first goal with an assist from Ahmed Eltamami.

Will Burns and Brandon Zelner also played well defensively for the Lightning.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Corona del Mar 4, Northwood 0

IRVINE — Annie Alvarado had a goal and an assist for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League game Saturday.

Maddie O’Connor scored first for CdM (13-1-1, 2-0 in league) in the 33rd minute. The Sea Kings scored three goals in the second half. Alvarado scored off an assist from Ally Brahs. Sydney Raguse scored off a corner from Alvarado and Birkley Sigband scored on a penalty kick in the 75th minute.

CdM goalie Kendall Mulvaney (three saves) played in the first half and Sarah Cox (one save) played in the second half.

NEWPORT COAST — Meg Crade scored two goals for the Lightning in the Academy League game Saturday.

Allie Mowrey, Maddie Culberson and Alexa Thomas added one goal each for Sage Hill (6-3-2, 1-1 in league).

Newport Harbor 10, The Bishops 4

LA JOLLA — Allyson Hall and Carly Christian scored three goals each for the Sailors in the nonleague game Saturday.

Sophomore goalkeeper Cleo Harrington made nine saves for Newport Harbor (7-3).

WRESTLING

Asics Tournament

SANTA ANA — Newport Harbor senior Ben Nordstrom finished sixth in the 160-pound division Saturday at Godinez.

Nordstrom went 3-2 in the two-day tournament. He lost in the semifinals, 8-5.

Sailors sophomore Ryan Taormina, a 152-pounder, went 4-2 in the tournament.
