COSTA MESA — Cameron Nettles had 13 points to lead 12 Lions scorers in the Golden State Athletic Conference game Tuesday.
Vanguard (6-19, 4-13 in conference) also received 10 points from Billy Thompson and Chris Raybon. Alex Chapman had eight points and 11 rebounds.
Hope is 13-14, 4-13.

COSTA MESA — Senior Molly Pfohl had 22 points and 10 rebounds to pace the host Lions in the Golden State Athletic Conference game Tuesday.
Sarah Boyd, Veronica Beavor and Allison Burns added 13 points apiece, while Boyd, a senior guard, had 10 assists.
Vanguard improved to 15-8, 11-6 in conference.
Hope is 12-15, 4-13.

LA MIRADA — The visiting Lions swept the Golden State Athletic Conference match Tuesday.
Yahor Kryvaruchka won, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 3 singles to pace the No. 6-ranked Lions (2-1).

LA MIRADA — Gabriela Bergmanova posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles to pace the visiting Lions’ sweep in the Golden State Athletic Conference match Tuesday.
Anna Valingsten (No. 3) and Ekaterin Gabashvili (No. 4) won 12 of 13 games in their singles matches.
It was the season opener for No. 4-ranked Vanguard.

WALNUT — Pirates No. 2 singles player Casey Kawabe won, 6-4, 0-6 (11-9), in the nonconference match Tuesday.
Claire Crossman won at No. 4 singles and Remi Sutton won at No. 5 singles for OCC (2-1), which got a doubles win from Sutton and Hannah Mancino.
Mt. SAC is 5-1.
Rebekah Penner beat Mancino at No. 3 singles, 3-6, 6-3 (10-5).
