5:55 p.m. Dec. 18, 2017High school roundup: In the Dec. 16 Sports section, a roundup item on the Servite Mann Classic misstated that Fountain Valley wrestler Dylan Zotea would undergo an MRI for an injury that one of his coaches said caused him to pull out of the 132-pound final. Alena Zotea said her son would not be undergoing an MRI for the injury.
“I was getting mixed emotions of excitement and joy,” Williams said. “I was just proud of myself and all the work I’ve put in. It’s all paying off.
“It’s a grind. This is one of the hardest sports in the world, and it is hard to get to where I am today. I can’t be here without my coaches, my parents, and all my teammates.”
Williams remains undefeated on the season at 12-0. He has also claimed individual titles at the Westminster Cossarek Classic and the Edison Beach Bash.
Seven locals medaled in the tournament. Fountain Valley had the most with four.

Marina’s John McCoy rebounded from a loss to Wilner in the main draw semifinals to capture third in the consolation final. The Vikings senior defeated Riverside Poly’s Brian Geiger by major decision 14-2.
