High School Girls’ Water Polo Roundup: Laguna Beach easily improves to 2-0

Junior Cici Stewart scored three goals as the Laguna Beach High girls’ water polo team beat La Cañada 16-5 in a nonleague home game Wednesday.

Seniors Alana Evans, Sophia Lucas, Alex Peros and Isabel Riches all scored twice for the Breakers (2-0), as did sophomore Morgan Van Alphen.

Laguna Beach junior Evie Laptin, senior Kyla Whitelock and freshman Molly Renner also scored, while senior Evan Tingler dished out four assists.

Senior goalie Thea Walsh made six saves for Laguna Beach, which plays host to Goleta Dos Pueblos on Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. in a key nonleague match.

El Dorado 16, Estancia 2

Sydni White and Cassie Corrigan both scored for the Eagles in their nonleague season opener on the road Wednesday.

Goalie Annie Mitchell made seven saves for Estancia (0-1), which plays at Sonora on Dec. 6.
