Girls’ tennis roundup: Newport Harbor tops Huntington Beach
Nicole Knickerbocker swept at No. 1 singles as the Newport Harbor High girls’ tennis team beat Huntington Beach, 13-5, on Thursday in a Sunset League match.
Lauren Lipkowski and Amra Barton swept at No. 1 doubles for Newport Harbor (8-2, 2-0 in league). Rachel Davis and Avery Wooden swept at No. 2 doubles for the Sailors.
Newport Harbor plays host to Los Alamitos on Monday.
Corona del Mar 18, Northwood 0: Danielle Willson, Kristina Evloeva and Paulina Loredo all swept in singles for the Sea Kings during Thursday’s Pacific Coast League match.
Shaya Northrup and Bella McKinney swept with three 6-1 sets at No. 1 doubles for Corona del Mar (10-0, 2-0 in league).
Laguna Beach 16, Calvary Chapel 2: Ella Pachl and Taylor Corrigan swept in singles for the Breakers in Thursday’s Orange Coast League match.
The doubles teams of Megan Mindte and Jessalyn Chaney, Lina Gleizer and Jai-Lin Garrett, as well as Vanessa Gee and Deeba Saffarian, all swept for Laguna Beach (4-5, 4-0 in league).
Estancia 11, Godinez 7: Kate Harrison swept at No. 2 singles for the Eagles in Tuesday’s Orange Coast League match.
Estancia improved to 4-0 in league.
