OCC’s DiCroce honored
Orange Coast College sophomore Chanelle DiCroce, who helped the Pirates advance to the second round of the Southern California Regional playoffs, earned third-team All-State honors in women’s basketball.
DiCroce, a first-team All-Orange Empire Conference honoree, averaged 11.9 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game for the Pirates (19-11). She scored in double figures 20 times, including OCC’s final eight games. Over that eight-game span, she averged 16 points and 10 rebounds per contest.
OCC, playing with only seven full-time players most of the season, lost a share of the OEC title in the final regular-season game. The Pirates defeated Cuesta in the first round of the regionals, before being eliminated by eventual state champion Ventura.
