Corona del Mar football trio commits
A quad injury cost Corona del Mar High linebacker Clyde Moore most of his senior football season.
He will get to play football again.
Moore signed his national letter of intent with Colorado’s football program on Wednesday morning, said Sea Kings coach Dan O’Shea via text.
Moore signed on the first day of the new three-day early signing period. He’s going to Boulder with CdM senior running back J.T. Murphy, who will be a preferred walk-on player for the Pac-12 Conference school.
CdM senior wide receiver TaeVeon Le is bound for Stanford as a preferred walk-on player. Newport Beach resident Trent Edwards, a former Stanford and NFL quarterback, went to support Le during Wednesday’s ceremony for Le, Moore and Murphy at CdM.
“He’s been following Tae throughout Tae’s high school football career,” said An Le, TaeVeon’s mother. “Stanford told us that Trent put Tae on Stanford’s radar. Today was the first time we met Trent in person. What a wonderful man!”
Unlike Murphy and Le, both first-team All-Pacific Coast League selections, Moore only played in three games because of his injury. The 6-foot-1, 225-pound Moore had 23 tackles and one sack.
“Clyde is very physical, smart and is hungry because he missed his senior year with an injury,” Colorado inside linebackers coach Ross Els said on Twitter. “We are very excited to have him.”
