High School Roundup: Sage girls’ XC takes fourth at Mt. SAC Invite

GIRLS’ CROSS COUNTRY

Mt. San Antonio College Invitational

WALNUT — Sage Hill School freshman Emma Dickerson earned third place at 19 minutes and led the Lightning to a fourth-place finish in the Division 5 Sweeptakes race that had 15 teams at Mt. San Antonio College on Friday.

Sage Hill Coach Nate Miller said it was the Lightning best performance at the meet.

Julia Lowe (17th, 20:27), Maya Jaffe (27th, 21:12), Olivia Lowe (48th, 22:21) and Ashton Carroll (59th, 23:02) also competed for Sage Hill.

Mt. San Antonio College Invitational

WALNUT — Dafne Garduno finished 67th in 22:12 to lead Estancia at Mt. San Antonio College on Friday.

Anahi Sanchez (113th, 24:35), Samantha Arroyo (121st, 25:15), Kim Martinez (151st, 26:43), Jessica Limon (168th, 30:50) and Jackie Ramirez (169th, 31:50) also competed for the Eagles in Division 4/5. Estancia did not place.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Sage Hill 14, St. Margaret’s 4

MISSION VIEJO — Catherine Kiani swept in singles to help lead the Lightning to undefeated Academy Leaghue championship run at Saddleback College on Friday.

Isabella Deckey and Marina Anderson swept in doubles, and Jaclyn Gerschultz won twice in singles before being subbed out/

BOYS’ CROSS COUNTRY

Mt. San Antonio College Invitational

WALNUT — Sage Hill School senior Calvin Shiman finished 37th in 17:19 to lead the Lightning to 13th in the Division 5 Sweepstakes race taht had 16 teams at Mt. San Antonio College on Friday.

Cameron Knollenberg (39th, 17:20), Luke Nataupsky (75th, 18:24), Jacob Diaz (81st, 18:41) and Kylen Patel (88th, 18:55) also competed for Sage Hill.

Mt. San Antonio College Invitational

WALNUT — Angel Hernandez finished 92nd in 19 minutes to lead Estancia, which finished 28th in Division 4/5 at Mt. San Antonio College on Friday.

Isacc Carurrubias (126th, 19:39), Noel Sulbaran (161st, 21:02), Leo Romero (166th, 21:12), Adrian Bajaras (186th, 22:04) and Brandon Soto (192nd, 22:43) competed for the Eagles.

BOYS’ WATER POLO

Cypress 11, Estancia 7

Kyle Fitzgerald scored four goals to lead the Eagles in the nonleague game on Friday.

Jason Chesemore added two goals and goalie Eizik Leyva made six saves for Estancia (9-13).

The Eagles play against Los Amigos Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Central Orange County tournament at Garden Grove High.
