High School Roundup: Abdulghany wins PCL title

Pacific Coast League finals
SAN CLEMENTE — Corona del Mar High’s Alyaa Abdulghany shot six-under-par 69 to grab the Pacific Coast League individual championship at San Clemente Municipal Golf Club on Thursday.
Abdulghany shot a 68 on Wednesday to finish at nine-under 137 as the league champ.
Also for the Sea Kings, Amy Matsuoka finished second, two shots behind (68-71). The duo advanced to the CIF Southern Section Southern Individual Regional Tournament at Dad Miller Golf Course in Anaheim on Monday.
Ellen Takata of University was third at 146. CdM’s Celine Niu was 11th at 167 (85-82) and Gabby Finear was 13th at 170 (87-83).

Corona del Mar 12, Northwood 6
IRVINE— The Sea Kings clinched the outright Pacific Coast League title with the win Thursday on the road.
Siena Sharf swept in singles, and Camellia Edalat and Erica Chen swept in doubles. Annalise Bui and Shaya Northrup won a big doubles set, and Roxy Mackenzie clinched the 10th set victory.
CdM (16-1, 9-0 in league), ranked No. 2 in CIF Southern Section Division 1, concludes league play Monday at Irvine.

Jenn Kingsley swept at No. 1 singles to lead the Sailors in the Sunset League match on Thursday.
Elle Zielinski and Livi Zehnder swept at No. 2 doubles for Newport Harbor (16-1, 9-0 in league).

Corona del Mar def. Beckman
Jessie Harris had 15 kills and Natalia Bruening added 11 kills for the Sea Kings, who won the Pacific Coast League match, 26-24, 25-19, 25-19, on Thursday.
Sydney Alacano (nine kills), Payton Carter (11 digs) and Alexa Bonanno (10 digs) also contributed for CdM (17-1, 7-0 in league), which plays host to University on Tuesday, senior night.

Huntington Beach def. Newport Harbor
Remy Wilson had 10 kills for the Sailors, but the Oilers won the Sunset League match, 25-11, 25-16, 25-21 on Thursday.
Amanda Walker had seven kills, Madison Holland four kills and Jaclyn Brown two kills, while Ellie Hagadorn had 18 assists for Newport Harbor (9-16, 3-4 in league).
