High School Roundup: Sage Hill girls’ tennis moves to 4-0 in Academy League

Sage Hill 12, St. Margaret’s 6
Marina Anderson and Lauren Fishman swept in doubles for the Lightning in Tuesday’s Academy League match.
Jaclyn Gerschultz and Isabella Deckey each won twice in singles for Sage Hill (7-1, 4-0 in league).
The Lightning, ranked No. 3 in CIF Southern Section Division 2, play host to CdM on Wednesday at The Tennis Club.

Danielle Willson and Jasie Dunk swept in singles for the Sea Kings in Tuesday’s Pacific Coast League match at CdM.
Camellia Edalat and Erica Chen won twice at No. 1 doubles before being subbed out, improving to 24-1 this season.
CdM (8-1, 4-0 in league), ranked No. 3 in CIF Southern Section Division 1, plays Sage Hill on Wednesday at The Tennis Club.

HUNTINGTON BEACH — The Sailors swept in doubles in Tuesday’s Sunset League match on the road.
The doubles teams of Anna Burke and Kendall Cosenza, Elle Zielinski and Olivia Zehnder, as well as Taryn Andersorn and Eva Newsom, all swept for Newport Harbor. Lily Walkow also swept at No. 2 singles for Newport Harbor (10-1, 4-0 in league), ranked No. 9 in CIF Southern Section Division 1.

Andres White and Brendan Hack each had three goals for the Sea Kings in Tuesday’s Pacific Coast League game at home.
Tamir Avital and Will Rodosky (three assists) each scored twice for CdM, and Matt Moran made 12 saves.
CdM (7-3, 2-0 in league), ranked No. 4 in CIF Southern Section Division 1, plays at University on Thursday.

IRVINE — Amy Matsuoka shot two-under-par 34 to earn medalist honors for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League match at Oak Creek Golf Club on Tuesday.
Alyaa Abdulghany (36), Celine Niu (39), Gabby Finear (43) and Sarah Reynoso (44) also scored for CdM (11-1, 7-0 in league).

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Remy Wilson had 12 kills for the Sailors in the Sunset League match that the Oilers won, 25-10, 25-18, 25-23, on Tuesday.
Amanda Walker added seven kills and Jackson Brown had four kills for Newport Harbor (7-12, 1-1 in league),w hich plays host to Los Alamitos Thursday at 5 p.m.

Academy League meet
HUNTINGTON BEACH — Sage Hill finished second in the meet won by Crean Lutheran on Tuesday at Central Park.
Emma Dickenson was second individually in 19 minutes, 15 seconds for Sage Hill, followed by Julia Lowe in third in 19:42). Maya Jaffe (sixth, 20:03), Olivia Lowe (14th, 20:54) and Alice Warden (25th, 22:37) also scored for Sage Hill.

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Sage Hill finished third in the meet won by Crean Lutheran on Tuesday at Central Park.
Calvin Shimano was the top finisher for the Lightning, placing 11th in 17 minutes, 13 seconds. Other scorers included Kylen Patel (13th, 17:19), Luke Nataupsky (16th, 17:24), Cam Knollenberg (17th, 17:58) and Jacob Diaz (25th, 18:21).
