REDLANDS — UC Irvine posted lopsided wins Saturday, topping Whittier, 19-9 and Redlands, 14-3.

Pablo Carballo led the way with a career-best four goals against Redlands, while Ryan Warde, Matt Skinner and Lovre Milos had three goals apiece for the No. 8-ranked Anteaters against No. 18-ranked Whittier.

Dylan Peterson hade 11 saves against Whittier.

MINNEAPOLOS — UC Irvine split its two matches Saturday, rallying to defeat Central Florida, 22-25, 25-20, 15-25, 25-23, 15-9, and later falling to North Dakota State, 25-21, 22-25, 25-14, 19-25, 16-14, to fall to 4-5.

Victoria Dennis had 15 kills against UCF, while Harlee Kekauoha and Ella Rosenfeld chipped in 13 and 11 respectively.

Rosenfeld added two solo blocks and eight block assists, while Shelly Anderson had 27 assists, five block assists, two kills and one ace.

Against North Dakota, Kekauoha had 17 kills and nine digs, while Dennis had 18 kills and led the Anteaters with 2.5 total blocks.

Luna Tsujimoto had 26 digs against UCF and 24 against North Dakota State.

Vanguard def. Arizona Christian

The host Lightning earned their third straight sweep with a 25-17, 25-12, 25-12 Golden State Athletic Conference thrashing on Saturday.

No. 10-ranked Vanguard (8-4, 2-0 in conference) received 17 kills from Rachel Barker, 28 assists from Kelly Dalrymple and 17 digs from Rebecca Lowden.

MEN’S SOCCER

Vanguard 4, Soka 0

Carlos Yepez had one goal and one assist to lead the Lightning in the nonconference match Saturday.

Ivan Azpeita, Brian Torres and Jesus Fregoso also scored for No. 8-ranked Vanguard, which posted a 33-6 advantage in shots.

Brandon Gomez had two saves to preserve the shutout for the Lions (5-1).

Soka fell to 3-3.
