Vanguard def. Life Pacific

Jessica Chase posted 17 kils to help lead Vanguard to a 25-11, 25-18, 25-17 nonconference win Friday.

Rachael Barker added 12 kills, while Taylor Jackson and Sarah McKinny contributed 10 kills each for Vanguard (6-4). Rebecca Lowden led the Lions with 15 digs and Kelly Dalrymple led with 20 assists.

Life Pacific is 1-6.

Washington State def. UC Irvine

MOSCOW, Idaho – The Anteaters fell to 1-3 after the Cougars won, 25-19, 25-19, 25-14, to open the Idaho Volleyball Classic Friday.

Ella Rosenfeld and Victoria Dennis led UCI with six kills each. Shelly Anderson had 19 assists.

UCI takes on host Idaho Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and then faces Seattle at 4:30 p.m.

Samantha Lombardo scored for the Pirates in the nonconference game Friday.

Chaffey (3-0) scored the game-winner in the 79th minute.

Manuela Ramirez had the assist for OCC (1-2).

OCC plays host to Rio Hondo Wednesday at 2 p.m.

UCI dropped to 1-1.
