Briefs: OC Blues travel to Real Monarchs SLC
The Orange County Blues FC will face one of the worst teams in the United Soccer League for the second time during an eight-day period.
The Blues (8-8-3) play the Real Monarchs SLC (2-10-6) on Saturday in Sandy, Utah, at 6:30 p.m.
Orange County edged the Real Monarchs, 1-0, at home last week, helping it move into the sixth-and-final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Nine matches remain for the Blues, who have 27 points.
The two wins by the Real Monarchs have come at home this year. The Blues have struggled on the road, going 2-5-2.

OC All-Star football game broadcast
The 56th edition of the Brea Lions Club Orange County North-South Prep All-Star Football Game, played on July 9 at Orange Coast College, will air on three different channels in August.
KDOC-TV is broadcasting the game on Saturday between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. and on Sunday from 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Cox 3 has it on Aug. 7 at 11 p.m., Aug. 8 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Aug. 9 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Time Warners Cable Sports will air it on Aug. 7 at 8 p.m., Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. and Aug. 15 at 8 p.m.
Five Newport-Mesa recent graduated participated in the event for the South, Corona del Mar wide receivers Bo St. Geme and Cole Collins, and running back Cole Martin, as well as Estancia outside linebacker Ronnie Urquiza and center Dorian Navarrete.
