Young helps U.S. win gold at Maccabiah Games
Recent Corona del Mar High graduate Adam Young helped the U.S. men’s gymnastics team win the gold medal at the Maccabiah Games, an international Jewish athletic event that is held every four years in Israel.
Young, who is bound for UC Berkeley, finished fifth in the all-around with a score of 76.4. The U.S. defeated the Israeli national team for the gold.
Eduard Azarian, a member of the Soviet Union’s gold medal gymnastics winning team at the 1980 Olympic Games, coached Young.
Young is a member of the Azarian U.S. Gymnastics Training Center in Aliso Viejo.
