Carballo vies for Mexico

UC Irvine men’s water polo player Pablo Carballo will play for Mexico at the Pan Am Games, Tuesday through 15 in Toronto, Canada.

The native of Mexico City scored 11 goals for the Anteaters as a junior in 2014.

“Pablo has put a lot of hard work into making this team, and I’m sure he will gain both experience and confidence,” UCI Coach Marc Hunt said.

Mexico is in Group A along with the United States, Argentina and Cuba. Mexico opens Tuesday against Team USA, then faces Argentina on Wednesday and squares off against Cuba on July 11.
