An All-CIF trio in baseball

Corona del Mar High’s Evan Larsen and Sage Hill’s Brett Super and Conner Bock earned All-CIF Southern Section accolades in baseball in their respective divisions.

Larsen made the Division 3 team after leading CdM to a runner-up finish in the Pacific Coast League and its first CIF Southern Section postseason appearance since 2012, while Super and Bock, Division 6 selections, lifted Sage Hill to its first undefeated Academy League title and first quarterfinals appearance in the playoffs since 2010.

Larsen, the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Year, finished 9-4 with a 1.20 earned run average.

The junior right-hander threw eight complete games for CdM (17-10, 9-6 in league), five for shutouts. He fanned 63 and walked only 17 in 81 1/3 innings.

As a hitter, Larsen batted .250 with 11 runs batted in and six doubles.

Super, the Academy League MVP, went 9-0 in with a 0.88 ERA, to go with 104 strikeouts and 31 walks in 72 innings. The sophomore right-hander recorded a perfect game and a no-hitter for the Lightning (20-7, 12-0 in league).

Super hit .288 with one home run and 25 RBIs. He had five doubles, one triple and scored 17 runs.

Bock, a first-team All-Academy League pick, batted .333 with six homers and 34 RBIs. He finished with a .717 slugging percentage and a .481 on-base percentage.

Bock, a junior, produced four triples and four doubles, scored 31 runs and stole 16 of 19 bases.

Bock played first base and in the outfield, and he pitched.

As a pitcher, Bock was 4-3 with a 2.37 ERA. He struck out 47 in 38 1/3 innings.

The CIF Southern Section Division 3 Player of the Year award went to San Dimas’ Peter Lambert, and La Cañada Flintridge Prep’s Robbie Leslie was the Division 6 Player of the Year.
