OC Blues sign Ryan Felix
Orange County Blues FC has signed defender Ryan Felix for the remainder of the 2015 USL season. Felix made his debut in the Blues’ 5-0 loss at Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC Wednesday night.
Felix, 22, is originally from Corona, Calif. After several honors during his junior and senior seasons at Santiago High the 6-foot-3 defender spent four years at Loyola Marymount University. His junior season, 2013, was his most successful at LMU, earning All-WCC Honorable Mention and WCC All-Academic First Team, but only played three matches his senior season due to injury. He joins Billy Thompson and Jack McCracken as former Lions on the Blues roster this season.
“I’m excited to begin my professional career here in Orange County, where I played most of my youth soccer,” Felix said in a release.
OC Blues FC (5-6-1) faces Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 Saturday at 7 p.m. at UC Irvine’s Anteater Stadium.
