CdM’s St. Geme is Pacific Coast League’s Male Athlete of the Year
Corona del Mar High recent graduate Bo St. Geme, a standout in football and basketball, was named the Pacific Coast League Male Athlete of the Year by the Orange County Athletic Director’s Assn. at a dinner at the Anaheim Convention Center last month.
St. Geme was part of three CIF Southern Section Southern Division football championship teams with the Sea Kings. In 2013, he helped CdM become the first high school football program in California to finish a season 16-0 after it won its first CIF State Division III crown.
St. Geme, who plans to continue his football career at USC, is CdM’s career leader in receptions (154) and receiving yards (2,113), and No. 2 in receiving touchdowns (17). He also shares the Sea Kings’ single-season record for catches (60).
In his final year, St. Geme finished with 56 catches for 837 yards and six touchdowns, contributing to the Sea Kings’ third straight undefeated Pacific Coast League title and a quarterfinal appearance in the CIF Southern Section Southwest Division playoffs. St. Geme received All-CIF Southern Section Southwest Division, third-team All-Orange County and first-team All-Pacific Coast League accolades, and made the Daily Pilot Newport-Mesa Dream Team for a second time.
St. Geme earned a spot in the 56th edition of the Brea Lions Club Orange County North-South Prep All-Star Football Game. He also was honored during the 45th annual National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete Awards dinner for having a 4.0 grade-point average.
As a basketball player, St. Geme led CdM to a CIF Southern Section Division 3A runner-up finish as a senior. The Sea Kings claimed a perfect league title and reached the CIF State Southern California Regional Division III quarterfinals.
St. Geme, a point guard, was on the Dream Team for the second year in a row, and garnered second-team All-Pacific Coast League and sixth-team All-Orange County honors. He averaged 7.9 points, 2.9 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.1 three-pointers per game.
