OCC softball camps start Monday
Orange Coast College will offer two summer softball camps for advanced-level players beginning on Monday {June 22}.
OCC Coach Jodie Legaspi-Kiaha and assistant Monica Harrison will team up with OC Batbusters Coach Mike Stith and assistant coach Toni Mascarenas to run the camps. Legaspi-Kiaha and Harrison previously played softball for UCLA, where they helped the Bruins win an NCAA championship.
Mascarenas played on an NCAA championship team at the University of Arizona.
OCC’s Advanced Softball Workshop is open to girls ages 8 and older. The group training offers intense offensive and defensive workouts, and will cover speed, strength, conditioning, and game strategy. The workshop will take place from June 22 until Aug. 27, Monday through Thursday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at OCC’s softball field.
OCC’s Elite Girls High School Softball Camp offers position-specific training for high school-age athletes. Players will have a chance to improve their game IQ, and refine offensive and defensive skills. The camp will take place from June 22 until Aug. 27, Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at OCC’s softball field.
