High School Roundup: CdM baseball clinches second in PCL

Evan Larsen pitched a complete-game, three-hit shutout, striking out seven and walking one to help the Sea Kings clinch second place in the Pacific Coast League on Tuesday.
Larsen, who earned his ninth win of the year, also had a double with two runs batted in.
JT Schwartz went two for three with one RBI, Teddy Stuka tripled and Nick Premeer had an RBI for CdM (17-9, 9-6 in league), which lost to Beckman, 2-1, in 10 innings on Saturday.
Stuka had three hits in that loss to the first-place team, while Brenden Heuston drove in the Sea Kings’ lone run and Chazz Martinez pitched seven strong innings.

Godinez 12, Estancia 5
The Eagles fell to 12-9, 4-5 in league after losing the Orange Coast League game Tuesday at Estancia High.
Estancia finishes league play at Saddleback on Wednesday. Should Estancia win and Costa Mesa lose to first-place Calvary Chapel, the Eagles and Mustangs would finish tied for third in league. A tiebreaker game would be Friday at Costa Mesa High.
