SAN DIEGO — The Pirates’ season came to an end with a 25-20, 25-21, 25-15 setback in the semifinals of the California Community College Athletic Assn. semifinals Thursday at San Diego City College.

Adrian Faitalia had 17 kills and six digs to lead the Pirates (16-6), who hit .087 as a team and had 15 service errors.

Santa Monica (17-2), the Western State Conference champion, had 12 service errors, but hit .318 to advance to the championship match.

Steven Duhoux had 28 assists and three digs for OCC, which received seven kills, one solo block and two block assists from Nick Amado.

Duhoux, Amado and Brandon Dau accounted for the Pirates’ three ace serves.
