Girls’ Soccer: Brown, Neumann earn first-team accolades for CdM
Corona del Mar High senior midfielder Shelby Brown and sophomore defender Hailey Neumann have earned first-team All-Pacific Coast League honors for girls’ soccer.
Brown, an SMU commit, was the Pacific Coast League Offensive MVP a year ago. This year, she continued to lead the Sea Kings, with team-highs of eight goals and four assists.
Neumann was a standout as a center fullback for Coach Bryan Middleton’s Sea Kings (10-8-3), who finished tied second in league to snap a four-year league title run. The Sea Kings advanced to the CIF Southern Section 2 playoffs, where they lost to M.L. King of Riverside, 4-2, in the first round.
CdM senior forward Elise Roche, senior defender Birkley Sigband and sophomore defender Christina Venturini all earned second-team all-league accolades.
Junior Danielle Solaru of league champion Northwood earned PCL Offensive MVP honors, while senior Sommer Dey of Beckman was voted the Defensive MVP.
