Brett Collins hit a three-run home run in the first inning to propel the host Lions in the nonconference victory Tuesday.
Jose Reyes was two for five with one run batted in and Brock Eissman was one for three with one RBI to lead the six-hit attack for Vanguard (30-12), which has won 10 straight.
Ryan Heinle allowed one run on four hits in six innings to earn the win, his third in as many decisions this season.
Cal State San Marcos is 22-12.
Vanguard visits Westmont for the first of a three-game Golden State Athletic Conference series on Friday at 3 p.m.

CHANDLER, Ariz. — UC Irvine freshman David Kim finished sixth individually as the Anteaters were ninth as a team in the event concluded Tuesday at Whirlwind Golf Club.
Kim shot two-under-par 70 in the final round Tuesday and was seven-under 209 over the 54-hole event.
Junior Jacob Schulze shot 71 Tuesday and was 13th at 211, while senior Pete Fernandez was 22nd at 213.
UCI’s team score of 858 was 20 shots off the pace of victorious McNeese State.
