Trabuco Hills Invitational & Distance Carnival

MISSION VIEJO — Newport Harbor junior Emily Bacon finished sixth in the 3,200-meter invitational run with a season-best time of 11 minutes 21.51 seconds at Trabuco Hills High on Saturday.

Newport Harbor’s Hope Bender was first in the open 100 hurdles (15.17) and fifth in the open 200 (25.41).

Newport Harbor’s Erin Barth was second in the open 1,600 (5:14.55), Grace Clemence placed sixth in the open pole vault with a personal-best mark (10 feet 7 inches), and Rachelle A La Torre won the open discus throw (133-3) and took second in the open shotput (36-3 1/4).

Trabuco Hills Invitational & Distance Carnival

MISSION VIEJO — Costa Mesa senior Anuare Magana was the runner-up finisher in the 1,600-meter invitational run in 4 minutes 17.94 seconds at Trabuco Hills High on Saturday.

BOYS’ LACROSSE

Newport Harbor 9, Los Alamitos 8

Senior Alex Fuller finished with three goals in the Sailors’ Sunset League game at home on Friday.

Joe Fuller and Chandler Pearce had two goals apiece for Newport Harbor (4-6, 2-0 in league), while Alex Pearce and John Mooers each added a goal and two assists.

Liam Whelan recorded four takeaways and two groundballs, and Ryan Simons had one takeaway and three groundballs.

Newport Harbor plays host to Beckman on Thursday at 7 p.m.
