College Roundup: Vanguard baseball takes down San Diego Christian

Vanguard 9, San Diego Christian 4

EL CAJON – Jose Rojas, Paul Keating and Brock Eissman all homered to lead the visiting Lions in the Golden State Athletic Conference game Wednesday at Grossmont Community College.

Rojas was three for five with three runs batted in, while Keating and Eissman were both two for five with two RBIs for the Lions (27-12, 21-10 in conference).

Marshall McKinnon worked three scoreless relief innings, allowing just one hit, to earn the pitching victory.

San Diego Christian is 9-30, 8-23.

MEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Orange Coast def. San Diego City

Adrian Faitalia had 15 kills to pace the host Pirates, who swept the Pacific Coast Conference match, 25-9, 25-14, 25-21, on Wednesday.

Nick Amado had eight kills and hit .700, while Jack Stafford had eight kills and hit .600 for the Pirates (13-4, 10-1 in conference).

San Diego City is 4-14, 3-9.

OCC plays host to Palomar on Friday at 6 p.m.
