Boys’ Soccer: Estancia’s Pizarro earns offensive MVP again
Estancia High junior striker Kevin Pizarro is the Orange Coast League Offensive MVP for the second straight season in boys’ soccer.
Pizarro, a three-time first-teamer, led the Eagles with 10 goals, to go along with two assists.
Estancia (12-5-5, 3-3-4 in league), which finished fourth in league, missed the CIF Southern Section playoffs for the second time in six seasons under Coach Robert Castellano. There were no at-large entries in the Division 4 playoffs.
Estancia senior defender Christian Monroy received first-team accolades.
Junior defenders Andy Ceja and Tony Hernandez made the second team.
No player from fifth-place Costa Mesa (4-10-2, 2-7-1) was on the first or second team.
Eric Torres, from Godinez, was named the Orange Coast League MVP.
